Contactless Parcel Service (CPS) is a design project based on simple user research. The project aimed to identify pain points in the UK online shopping experience during the epidemic and to propose solutions through the product design.

After identifying the topic and completing the pilot study , we defined the outline of the semi-structured user research interviews in order to quickly capture the user's pain points during the epidemic.

During the research process, a total of seven users were interviewed and their pain points and corresponding solutions were summarised in a table (the conclusion table was writen in Chinese, sorry for that). Among them, "It is difficult for me to get my delivery in time because of the short opening time of reception due to the epidemic" and "I will disinfect the delivery when I get it" were mentioned several times by the interviewees.

Our target user is students living in student accommodation. This is because The centralised nature of the flats maximises the value of the locker. Secondly, students are also more willing to try out new mechanisms. We then completed a user persona and storyboard.

Based on the former work, we have made a number of changes to the three core functions of parcel locker (parcel tracking, parcel pick-up and parcel delivery) to fulfill users' demand. For example: a completely contactless pick-up logic (user can open and close lockers on the mobile phone, no interactive panel will be installed on the locker), a sanitisation process that automatically turn on when the parcel is placed, a POS machine for payment, etc.
根据前期的工作,我们在三个核心功能(包裹追踪,取包裹,和寄包裹)的基础上做了做了许多改动来满足用户需求。例如:完全无接触的寄取操作逻辑(在手机上完成开箱,关门等操作,在快递柜上不设置可交互面板),放入包裹后自动开启的消毒流程,适应英国本土化加入的 POS 机等等。

Finally, we rendered the 3D model of the delivery locker and completed the prototype design of the App in Figma. After completing the initial prototype design, we also conducted user testing to complete iterations of the prototype.
